Product Information

Native to India, the Middle East and North Africa, ashwagandha is commonly harvested for its roots and berries to be used in traditional medicine. The root has a strong smell which is how this plant got its name: In Sanskrit, “ashwa” means horse and “gandha” means smell. This name was also given to the plant because its properties are said to give the user the power and strength of a horse. Ashwagandha is also known as Withania somnifera, Indian ginseng, or winter cherry.

Product Use

Ashwagandha powder can be used with milk or water- simply add one teaspoon of the powder and stir well. While it can be taken at any time of day, many people report that, when taken before bedtime, it has a calming and soothing effect.
